A heartfelt thank you to our donors, sponsors, and attendees who made this event possible. Your contributions ensure that we can continue fostering and uplifting women writers in the industry. We look forward to celebrating with you again next year!

OCTOBER 2024

The inaugural Global Screen Creators Summit, organized by The Writers Lab UK & Ireland, brought together an incredible lineup of industry professionals, including UK actors Ruth Wilson, Vicky McClure, and producer Joy Gharoro-Akpojotor. This event provided a platform for established and emerging screenwriters to connect, learn, and share their work.

The ‘Write. Produce. Connect.’ Summit introduced screenwriters from the European and UK lab programmes to industry executives through panels and pitch meetings. We were honored to welcome speakers such as Kaos showrunner Charlie Covell, author Anne-Marie Imafidon, Sky Studios’ director of commissioning drama Katherine Butler, Film4 senior commissioning executive David Kimbangi, Rocks producer Ameenah Ayub Allen, and Element Pictures producer Chelsea Morgan Hoffmann.

This event was made possible through our valued partnerships with Content London, Lee & Thompson, Women in Film & TV (WFTV UK and WIFT Ireland), and Drehbuchforum Wien (Screenwriters Forum Vienna). We extend our gratitude to Sony Pictures Television, Gaumont, Screen Scotland, All3Media International, ORF, The Austrian Film Institute, and 5 Acts Productions for their generous support.

As we look ahead, The Writers Lab remains committed to creating opportunities for women and non-binary writers over 40. Stay connected with us for future programs and initiatives!
