We’re offering three workshops in February and March to our community to familiarize you with The Writers Lab work and to help you to polish your submission. All three events are virtual and FREE.
ONE | Open to ALL

TWO | Open to Early Bird Applicants

Join us to get tips about what makes a script stand out, with a focus on character, the beating heart of any story. After submitting access will be provided—and you will be able to update your script one time based on learnings from the workshop! Deadline to update: MARCH 10th.

THURSDAY, MARCH 19th | 3pm ET (90 Minutes w/ Q&A)
Audience Choice! Bring your questions on everything from submissions to craft to the development process. After submitting access will be provided—and you will be able to update your script one time based on learnings from the workshop! Deadline to update: APRIL 9th.

Digital Conversation Series
October – December 2025
In 2025 the Writers Lab hosted its virtual Digital Speaker Series, bringing audiences into intimate, festival-style conversations centered on advancing women filmmakers.
The series featured an international lineup of industry leaders, including Maïmouna Doucouré, Marie Kreutzer, Mona Qureshi (Netflix UK), representatives from Wildcard Distribution, and Ed Guiney of Element Pictures.

SUMMIT
Write. Produce. Connect.
October 2024
The inaugural Global Screen Creators Summit: Write. Produce. Connect., organized by The Writers Lab UK & Ireland, brought together established and emerging screenwriters with industry leaders for panels, pitch meetings, and meaningful exchange. The summit created space for writers to connect, learn, and share their work within an international industry context.
The program featured an outstanding lineup of speakers, including Ruth Wilson, Vicky McClure, Joy Gharoro-Akpojotor, Charlie Covell, Anne-Marie Imafidon, Katherine Butler (Sky Studios), David Kimbangi (Film4), Ameenah Ayub Allen, and Chelsea Morgan Hoffmann of Element Pictures.
The event was made possible through valued partnerships with Content London, Lee & Thompson, Women in Film & TV (UK & Ireland), and Drehbuchforum Wien, with generous support from Sony Pictures Television, Gaumont, Screen Scotland, All3Media International, ORF, the Austrian Film Institute, and 5 Acts Productions.
