The Writers Lab, the only programme devoted exclusively to script development for women and nonbinary screenwriters over 40, has partnered again with Untamed Stories to run a programme for writers based in Austria, England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales. (For residency requirements, please see the FAQ. ) 

Building on the success of our previous UK & Europe Labs, this Lab will start in September 2025 with an in-person Intensive in London, and run until December 2025 with sessions focused on development and industry connections. The Writers Lab is excited to create a far-reaching and culturally inclusive community of unique voices reflecting the diversity of the populations across the the UK and Europe.

Up to 8 writers will be selected to participate in this 4-month programme. Applicants will need to be available for the Intensive, regular meetings, and dedicated writing time from September to December 2025.

The Writers Lab UK and Europe 2023 is currently supported by  Ffilm Cymru Wales, Screen Scotland, Northern Ireland Screen, The Austrian Film Institute, ORF, FISAplus – Film Industry Support Austria and Drehbuchforum Wien (Screenwriters Forum Vienna).
